The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
On 25 May 2018, the application of the General Regulation on the protection of personal data was started. (Regulation (EU) 2016/679).

At Marathon Varna the protection of the personal data of the registered competitors and the confidentiality of its storage are our priority and we follow all the national and European requirements and regulations for the personal data protection.

PERSONAL DATA DEFINITION
According to the new regulation, personal data is any information relating to an individual who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by an identifier such as name, identification number, location data, online identifier or one or more characteristics, specific for the physical, physiological, genetic, psychological, mental, economic, cultural or social identity of that individual.
1.COLLECTING, PROCESSING AND USING OF DATA
As in most websites, you can also visit our website without disclosing your identity or other personal information.
We collect only information and personal data (hereinafter referred to as Data) that you provide voluntarily when register for participation in Marathon Varna by completing our registration form, these are: Name, Middle Name, Last Name, Gender, Telephone, Country, Age, E-mail Address, Distance, T-shirt Size, and Account Sign-In Password.
We have to inform you that for the conduct of the competition, Marathon Varna collects, processes and stores only personal information necessary for the fulfillment of this purpose, as follows:
– Name and Surname – needed for the race results, i.e. to identify the standing of the participants in the different distances
– Age – required to divide participants in age groups in the different distances;
– Country – needed for statistical analysis of participants in Marathon Varna;
– Telephone – required for feedback from the participant in case of irregularities in registration for participation;
– E-mail address – required when entering Registered Participant to check whether the participant has a correct registration on the competition’s website;
– Gender – needed to divide the participants into the ranking – women / men;
– Distance – needed for making start lists by distance in Marathon Varna;
The website of Marathon Varna does not collect and process intentionally special categories of personal data, as well as information from children under 16 years of age.
2.STORAGE OF DATA
We store all data you submit to us until you withdraw your consent in writing. You may request partial or complete deletion of your Data at any time. We will meet these requests without delay.
3.RIGHT OF DATA ACCESS
You can receive information about your stored Data through written request at any time.
4.TRANSFER OF DATA TO THIRD PARTIES
We do not provide the Data we collect to third parties. In particular, we do not sell, provide or exchange your Data unless such disclosure is required by law or is explicitly described below.
5.SECURITY
We take care of the security of your Data and use all technical and organizational options for Data storage in a way that is inaccessible to third parties. All data is stored on a server that meets a high standard of security and is protected against unauthorized access.
6.LENGTH OF STORAGE TIME OF PERSONAL DATA
In view of the interest and needs of the participants in Marathon Varna, the personal data is kept for an unlimited period of time or until a written request to delete from the results protocols in different distances is submitted.
7.OTHER PERSONAL DATA WHICH IS NOT REQUIRED FOR MARATHON VARNA
Marathon Varna does not collect, process and store other personal data, including subjective and sensitive (ethnicity, religion, education, sexual orientation, political or other affiliation, etc.) that is not necessary for the fulfillment of our purpose of processing and publication of the final results achieved by the participants in Marathon Varna in the different distances.
8.WHEN WE COLLECT YOUR DATA?
We may collect and use your personal data:
- When you contact us through our other social networking sites and channels;
- In case of inquiries you made through the contact forms of the website
- for contact and communication with the website;
Necessary invoice data;
When you interact otherwise with us as a user, partner, vendor, contractor, subcontractor or other.
